False Prophets
Good Morning!
I greet you in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. May his blessings overflow in your life and touch all the people around you.
God is good and gracious. His mercies are new every morning and we thank Him humbly for this.
The Lord has been speaking to me lately about worshipping Him in Spirit and Truth.
John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
The truth part is what I would like to bring to your attention today.
Lately we have heard about so many leaders in our churches who seem to be in the ministry for their own benefit.
It is sad to hear the children of God talk about other children of God behind their backs.
I am specifically referring to preachers in the public eye. They are being closely watched by the world and it seems like the church of God is looking at them, waiting for them to make mistakes. To say something that can be taken out of context and can be used against them.
People are always looking for a way to rip others apart.
There is also the followers of Christ who are truly wanting to receive the true, life-giving Word of God and because of the warnings in the Bible, are afraid that these men and woman of God are false prophets and false teachers.
There are several verses in the Bible warning us against these false teachers:
1 John 4:1, 2 Corinthians 11: 13-15, 2 Peter 2:1 to name but a few of these verses. You can go and read them in your own time. Take time to think about them and do your own research.
This morning during my own quiet time, the Lord revealed something new to me and I was encouraged to know that God is still in control and I have nothing to worry about.
We can run away with a thought so quickly and before we know it we are accusing people of being false and we simply move them out of our sight and out of our lives.
Now, please understand what I am saying. I am, by no means saying that if somebody is going against the Word of God you should still listen to them, but God gave us a Spirit to determine what is from Him and what not. I am still referring here to preachers, teachers and prophets, who are being accused of being in the ministry for their own gain. Becoming rich from the money their big churches are making. The ministers and preachers who seem to be using God's Word to prove their own point of view or to make a point that they support.
1 John 4 : 1 - 2 4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God.

Then this morning came a lightbulb moment from an old friend. Paul writes to us in Philippians the following encouraging message:
Philippians 1:15-18 King James Version (KJV)
15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
Wow how awesome is that? Yes read it one more time! Paul is sitting in chains and is encouraging us to believe in God and his Word!
We are so focussed on the devil and his plans, that we lose focus on what is really important. The fact that God is still in control. He is almighty and will not allow His Word to come to us empty.
So whether or not God's Word is brought to us by teachers and prophets that is true to God or not, Gods Word will come to us through His Spirit and will strengthen us.
So lets rejoice in God's Word, Love and Almighty Grace and trust that He will use His word to edify and purify our lives. Let us rejoice in His love.
May the Word of God be your only guide!
Please share this post with fellow believers to encourage them to stand strong in their beliefs.
